Jen began her career in event planning and hospitality over ten years ago while attending Arizona State University (ASU). She received a B.S. in Recreation and Tourism Management and has since planned an array of events ranging from the ballroom to the ballpark both on the West Coast and beyond. Both a Virginia lover and a California girl, she was born in Redondo Beach, California yet raised in Potomac Falls, Virginia. From coast-to-coast, she has been a part of numerous high profile events including the 2007 Super Bowl XLII in Arizona to fundraising events like Vintage Hollywood's food & wine tasting festival held at the Los Angeles home of boxing champion Sugar Ray Leonard. It was in 2009 that she was asked to coordinate her first wedding, an intimiate backyard wedding in Brentwood, CA and she hasn't looked back since.

With over ten years of experience living in Los Angeles planning weddings all across the United States, Jen has also planned events all across California including San Francisco, Lake Tahoe,  San Diego, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara and beyond to other major cities like Houston, Austin, New York, Las Vegas, Phoenix, New Orleans, Atlanta and charming destinations like Sedona, Arizona and Newport, Rhode Island.

 

A first generation born American (Swedish and Argentinian decent), Jen's bilingual upbringing has become a great benefit to international couples looking to plan weddings in Southern California and to couples planning destination weddings in locations like Los Cabos, Mexico and in Europe with recent events in Capri, Italy.  Now based more centrally in Houston, TX - Jen's passion is   destination wedding planning and welcomes all international weddings and events. Jen truly enjoys experiencing new cultures and in doing so has grown First Pick Planning's reach to all these unique places.

 

In her spare time, Jen, the self-proclaimed girliest tomboy you'll ever meet, plays and coaches volleyball, beach flag football and is also an active member of the Delta Zeta Sorority Alumni, Arizona State University Alumni Association and is a Co-Director Board Member of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) South Bay Chapter.
